Curly Maple Beach Epoxy Cutting Board

This curly maple cutting board, charcuterie board, or cheese board is an original piece of art with an beach inspired epoxy resin design. The colorful ocean colors are meant to bring you back to a beautiful day at the beach enjoying the sun and the surf. There is a copper peek-a-boo area on the front in a knot, that makes it even more attractive to display when not in use. The board has been sanded and sealed with food safe mineral oil. Size is 10.375" (width) x 12.375" (height) x .75" (thick).

Ambrosia Maple is a general term attached to a variety of Acer (true maple) species whose boards included colorful bug “trails” — caused by a fungus carried by the Ambrosia Beetle which penetrates the tree sap as the beetle eats into the tree, and it spreads both through the worm hole and up and down in the tree (carried along by the sap) and causes discoloring of the wood in streaks. These pieces of wood have been kiln dried, finished and treated with FDA approved cutting board oil. The pinholes created by the beetle are not detrimental to the use of the board, and some may be filled in with starbond and some left in its natural state. 
 
Helpful tips for your resin piece:
Please do not put your cutting board in the dishwasher.
Please do not rub any abrasive materials on your epoxy resin.
Please do not place any hot pots or plates onto your resin.
Please do not cut on top of your resin.
To clean the resin portion of your board just use a diluted glass cleaning solution and then buff dry.
Use cutting board oil on wood portions after 3-4 uses to keep it from drying out and warping.
Thoroughly dry then stand on end. Never lay piece flat on counter.
